Family Portrait Session Guide
Welcome to your family portrait session! I’m so excited to capture some beautiful memories with you. To help you prepare, here are some tips on what to wear, what to bring, and what to expect during your session.
What to Wear
- Coordinated but Not Matching: Aim for outfits that complement each other in color and style without being too "matchy-matchy." Think about a cohesive color palette like neutrals with pops of color.
- Comfort is Key: Choose outfits that everyone feels comfortable in. If you’re not comfortable, it will show in the photos!
- Layers and Textures: Add depth and interest to your outfits with layers, textures, and accessories. Scarves, hats, and jewelry can add personality to your look.
- Bring a Spare Outfit: It’s always a good idea to bring a spare outfit for everyone. This way, we have some options and can switch things up for a different look.
What to Bring
- Props You Love: I love incorporating props into sessions! Feel free to bring items that are special to your family, like a favorite blanket, a book, or even your pet.
- Snacks and Water: Especially with little ones, having some snacks and water on hand can be a lifesaver during the shoot.
- Comfort Items for Kids: If your children have a favorite toy or comfort item, bring it along. It can help them feel more at ease during the session.
- Spare Clothes: Don’t forget to bring an extra set of clothes for everyone, just in case!
What to Expect
I want this experience to be fun and relaxed! We’ll take our time to get the best shots, and I’ll guide you through different poses and setups. We’ll capture a mix of candid and posed photos, ensuring we get a variety of images that showcase your family’s unique personality.
Sessions typically last about 1-2 hours, giving us plenty of time to explore different settings and outfit changes. If you have any specific shots in mind, feel free to let me know!
