As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, I've learned that when couples have enough time built into their day, they feel more relaxed, enjoy the experience, and end up with photographs that look natural instead of rushed. Here's how I recommend planning your wedding day.
Getting Ready (60–90 Minutes)
The day begins long before you walk down the aisle.
These are some of my favorite moments to photograph because the excitement is real and unscripted. Hair and makeup finishing touches, your dress hanging by the window, handwritten vows, family members seeing you for the first time, and all the little details that helped tell the story of your wedding.

First Look (Optional) – 20 to 30 Minutes

Choosing a first look also allows us to complete many of your portraits before the ceremony, giving you more time to enjoy cocktail hour with your guests.
Wedding Party Portraits (30–45 Minutes)

I like to keep this fun, relaxed, and efficient so everyone can get back to celebrating.
Ceremony
This is where I become as invisible as possible.

Family Portraits (20–30 Minutes)

To keep this part of the day running smoothly, I recommend creating a list of the family groupings you'd like photographed before the wedding. Having a plan helps us stay organized and allows everyone to get back to the celebration quickly.
Couple Portraits (20–45 Minutes)
This is your chance to slow down together.
Don't worry if you've never been in front of a professional camera before. I'll guide you naturally, help you feel comfortable, and create images that feel authentic instead of overly posed.
Some of my favorite portraits happen during golden hour, just before sunset, when the light is soft and incredibly flattering.
Cocktail Hour
While your guests enjoy cocktails, I'll photograph the reception space before everyone enters, along with candid moments of family and friends celebrating together.

Reception
